About KC High Lights
KC High Lights has provided commercial outdoor lighting services to customers across the Kansas City area since 1988. We take pride in the quality of our work and our commitment to customer satisfaction. All of our professionals are licensed and insured.
KC High Lights was acquired and relaunched under a new name in 2019. KC Highlights is currently led by co-owners Matt Stevens and Tim Skarda.
Tim skarda
Tim is a local entrepreneur who became a co-owner of KC High Lights in August 2019. Tim grew up in the Omaha area and played an active role in his family business, Skarda Equipment Company, before moving to Lawrence to attend the University of Kansas.
During his graduate studies at the University of Kansas, Tim recognized a need among small and middle-market business owners for sophisticated investment banking services. As a result, in 2002, Tim founded an investment banking firm named Allied Business Group, which provided sell-side M&A advisory and business valuation services for companies across a broad range of industries. Tim eventually sold his firm to a top wealth advisory firm headquartered in the Midwest.
Drawing upon his experience with his family business and advising business owners on the sale of their companies, Tim understands the importance of building and maintaining strong customer relationships by consistently delivering quality work.
matt stevens
Co-Owner
A Kansas City native, Matt grew up in Stilwell area and now lives in Overland Park. Matt spent more than decade in sales and marketing roles at some of Kansas City’s largest companies, including DST and Sprint.
After taking time off from work to raise his three young children at home, Matt returned to work as an entrepreneur, starting a real estate investment firm and a residential handyman service. When he is not working, Matt enjoys spending time with his family and serving as President on the board of his homeowner’s association.
Matt became a co-owner of KC High Lights in August 2019. KC High Lights fits well with Matt’s natural passion for helping create beautiful things that enhance the look of properties in his community.
